Week # 8

(b) given the combination of rising costs of weddings and the decreased stigma of cohabitation and pre-marital sex, do you think that marriage has become more of an luxury, or an option, than a required passage to adulthood??

I believe that marriage has lost its excitement over the years. I mean it is not a requirement in order to have relations or be with the one you love. You can do as you please. You can live with a man or women and not be married, cohabiting, or have a common-law marriage. You can just be living with a boyfriend or girlfriend that you enjoy being with.
Getting married has gotten too expensive. I mean there are ways to get around an expensive marriage. I mean unless you want a big one of course. The bigger the ceremony and reception the more expensive it gets. The smaller the ceremony and reception if you choose to have one the cheaper it is. I had a cheap wedding, all I had to pay for was my dress the pastor, and the wedding license. The total I paid on my wedding was two hundred dollars. I did not have a reception. My reception was my husband, a few friends, and I went to Red Lobster for dinner and our friends split the bill. It was a short but sweet ceremony. Just the way I like it. I mean every women has her dreams no matter how much it cost they will get what they want.
