Week 12!!!

I love the Dixie Chicks. I believe songs like “Good-bye Earl” do increase the awareness of domestic violence, but only for a brief amount of time. I think that when people are not involved with the problem of domestic violence people do not realize how serious it is. People do not want to be thinking how serious and scary it could be if domestic violence happened to them, even someone they love, or someone they know. I do not think that songs that address domestic violence do a disservice to people that want to raise social consciousness. I think that the songs help a little bi but not enough. We still need to increase the knowledge of domestic violence across the world in elementary school, middle school, high school, and college. Other wise children will not understand how serious domestic violence really is.
