week 7!!!

(a) Your college roommate or close friend is seriously considering cohabiting with her/his partner and has come to you for advice. What major issues would you discuss with her/him?? Discuss the current demographic trends and characteristics of cohabitation as well as the advantages and disadvantages of cohabitation as discussed in assigned reading.

Some of the current demographic trends on page 228, chapter 7 of cohabitation have increased over the years with not only the opposite sex but the same sex as well. In 2000 some statistics was nine unmarried couples. Also for most people mainly among younger adults, cohabitation it has become a longer process of courtship. This has affected the attitudes of high school seniors.
I would tell my roommate that it is a great idea for him/ her to move in with her partner. I think you never know the real person until you have lived with them for an extended amount of time. I mean you may find things that you do or do not like about that person. You may also have to get used to each others routines. Everyone has different ways of doing things and this could help get organized together.

I agree. I think you should live with someone prior to marrying them. It is like a trial run or test drive of what type of marriage you would have. Seeing how someone lives on a day to day basis is much different than an occasional overnight visit.

I do agree that it helps to live with someone before you marry them, but at the same time I have a friend that has lived with 4 other guys. I always want to say to her how many people are you going to live with before you figure this out this is not how you should go about this. But living with that someone worked for me!

I think it is good to live with someone prior to marriage it will give you time to adjust to each other and to learn each other habits.
